PATRICIA ANN PATE Obituary
Patricia Ann Pate, affectionately known as "Pat", by her family and friends; was born to Ceola Pate and Thomas Brooks in Dayton, Ohio, on June 3, 1953. She peacefully entered eternal rest on Thursday June18, 2026.
Pat confessed her faith in Christ at an early age and enjoyed teaching Youth Sunday School. She was a devoted member of Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church, where she faithfully worshipped and served until her illness.
Pat received her education through Dayton Public Schools, where she developed the values and character that guided her throughout her life. She was known for her kind heart, warm smile and unwavering love for her family.
Pat found great joy in cooking for her family and friends, reading, completing crossword puzzles, and spending precious time with her daughter and grandchildren. She treasured family gatherings and was the happiest when surrounded by those she loved. Her home was a place of comfort, laughter, and delicious meals shared with loved ones.
Pat leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, faith and devotion. She touched countless lives through her kindness, unwavering spirit, and dedication to her family, friends, and church community. Her memory will forever be cherished by all who knew and loved her. Though she departed from this earthly life, her love, wisdom, and the impact she made on those around her; will continue to live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
Pat was preceded in death by her beloved Parents, Ceola Sheppard and Thomas Brooks; her Grandparents, MC and Irene Pate; her Son, Tolie Damien Pate; her Daughter, Jacqueline Townsley; her Grandson, Ta'Ronn Pate; her Sisters; Mary Anderson and Valletta Brooks; her Brothers, Charlie Dorsey, Virgil Sheppard, Eric Brooks, and Dwight Tuck; and her Nephew, Anthony Pate-Smith Jr; God-Daughter, Roderica Simmons. She loved each of them dearly and carried their memories in her heart always.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving Daughter, Shatonne Pate; her Grandchildren, Montasia, Toleisha, Jonnia, and Tolie Jr; her Great-Grandchildren; her Devoted Sisters; Betty Ann, Regina Pate, and Sherri Lynn: her Brothers; Anthony Smith (Kathy) and Fred Sheppard; her devoted Niece, Cheryl Camp; her devoted Nephews, Mark Baker and Cleophus Smith; her Special Niece, Bryanna; her Special Nephews; Rico, Jacquan (Jakia), Maurlik, Richard, and Daniel; and a host of other relatives, friends, and loved ones who were bless to know her.
Pat also leaves behind special loved ones, Liacusia Allen, Pat Curry, Nakita Curry, Dereka Smith, and Maurice Wade, whose lives were enriched by her love and friendship.
Pat's life was a beautiful reflection of love, faith, family, and resilience. Her gentle spirit, caring nature, and steadfast dedication to those she loved will continue to inspire all who knew her. Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
Her life was a Blessing. Her memory a Treasure. She was Loved Beyond Words, and Will be Missed Beyond Measure.
